The main goal of the league is no-pressure enjoyment of curling. Each player gets 18 rocks/game, 6 in succession for 3 ends (a regular league is 16 rocks/game 2 in succession for 8 ends). Since there are only two players at each end of the ice (one from each team), the more experienced player is invariably a willing one-on-one coach for the other player. Plus, if players are up to some pre / post game coaching, that is an option also.
In the past, we've had several newbies start in this league before joining regular leagues. Also several parent/child teams, in lieu of / supplement to Junior league.
We need a minimum of six teams (12 players) to run the league.
If we wind up with an odd number of teams, we will have BYEs -- be sure to let us know if you have a preferred week for your BYE. On the other hand, you can come out to play one-on-one if we have fewer than 12 teams (i.e. open ice).
