The main goal of the league is no-pressure enjoyment of curling. Each player gets 18 rocks/game 6 in succession for 3 ends (regular league is 16 rocks/game 2 in succession for 8 ends). Since there are only two players at each end of the ice, the more experienced player is invariably a willing one-on-one coach for the other player. Plus, if players are up to some pre / post game coaching, that is an option also.
In the past, we've had several newbies start in this league before joining regular leagues. Also several parent/child teams, in lieu of / supplement to Junior league. Not little rocks though.
We need a minimum of six teams to run the league on Fridays. If we fail to get six teams, we'll move to Thursdays to share ice with another league with only a few teams. When we get to six teams, especially if registration is slow, we will change to a waitlist to ensure we get pairs of teams to prevent BYEs in the schedule.
